El Condor Pasa (If I could) by Simon/Garfunkel, Album: Bridge Over Troubled Water (1970)

I'd rather be a sparrow than a snail
Yes i would, if i could, i surely would
I'd rather be a hammer than a nail
Yes i would, if i only could, i surely would
Away, i'd rather sail away
Like a swan that's here and gone
A man gets tied up to the ground
He gives the world its saddest sound
Its saddest sound
I'd rather be a forest than a street
Yes i would, if i could, i surely would
I'd rather feel the earth beneath my feet
Yes i would, if i only could, i surely would
A song, not directly environmental, but singer's wishes seems to be inspired by the monotonous urban environment he lives and his feelings to escape away from the everyday routine he is forced to live in. Especially the verse "I'd rather be a forest than a street" shows the huge difference of an environment full of life and variation in contrast with the monotonous paved street full of cars and pollution.
The song was an old traditional peruvian song and the artists took the music and put their completely different lyrics. They faced some foolish problems with copyright, because someone else, many decades before, has re-written the music of the song in the version Simon-Garfunkel heard it for the first time, and his descendants went them to court.

“Όταν θα γεννηθεί ο γιος σου” του ντουέτου Λήδα-Σπύρος, άλμπουμ: “Χαμένο τίποτα δεν πάει” “When your son will be born” by Leda-Spyros (duet) (1974)

translation:
When your son will be born
It will be a common day like all others
Women will do the household
Children will play in playgrounds
They’ll travel with planes
They’ll crowd offices
Some others will leave Moon
And will explore other galaxies
When your son will be born
Tell him your first tale
About the truth that liberates
And fights injustice
Don’t nurse him in lies
He has a long way to go
He will regret and will cry
And he’ll meet the same old story
When your son will be born
Industries will surround us
Trees will lost their leaves forever
Black smokes will wrap us
That time tell him to see the sun
After a rainfall
The world all is his own
To make it from the start again
When your son will be born…
A beautiful old Greek song from mid 70s about the uncertain social and environmental future of next generations and the parental duty to show their kids the right way.

"World On Fire" by Sarah McLachlan, Album: Afterglow (2003)
Hearts are worn in these dark ages
You're not alone in this story's pages
The light has fallen amongst the living and the dying
And I'll try to hold it in, yeah I'll try to hold it in
The world's on fire and
It's more than I can handle
I'll tap into the water
(Try and bring my share)
I try to bring more
More than I can handle
(Bring it to the table)
Bring what I am able
I watch the heavens but I find no calling
Something I can do to change what's coming
Stay close to me while the sky is falling
Don't wanna be left alone, don't wanna be alone
Hearts break, hearts mend
Love still hurts
Visions clash, planes crash
Still there's talk of
Saving souls, still the cold
Is closing in on us
We part the veil on our killer sun
Stray from the straight line on this short run
The more we take, the less we become
The fortune of one that means less for some
A melancholic song about world situation. It was performed in a very interesting video clip with a clever message about our consuming expenses, usually spending large amounts for useless things. We read in wikipedia about this video clip:
The video for "World on Fire" opens with the claim of having cost $150,000, despite the ensuing low-quality footage of McLachlan in a plain room playing her guitar. The video continues to reveal it actually cost $15, then tracking (in animated and videotaped segments) how the remainder went to enriching lives all around the globe through charity donations. You can see this video clip and hear the song in youtube
The eleven charitable organizations McLachlan chose to donate the production costs of the World On Fire are Carolina for Kibera, Comic Relief, CARE USA, DORCAS, Engineers Without Borders (Canada), Help the Aged, Film Aid, War Child, Heifer International, ITDG, and Action Aid.
The video was inspired by a letter from an Engineers Without Borders (Canada) volunteer.

"Hey You" by Madonna (2007)
Hey You
Don't you give up
It's not so bad
There's still a chance for us
Hey You
Just be yourself
Don't be so shy
There's reasons why it's hard
Keep it together
You'll make it alright
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and Prophets would envy what we do
This could be good
Hey You
Hey You
Open your heart
It's not so strange
You got to change this time
Hey You
Remember this
None of its real
Including the way you feel
Keep it together
We'll make it alright
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and Prophets will envy what we do
This could be good
Hey You
Save your soul little sister
Save your soul little brother
Hey You
Save yourself
Dont rely on anyone else
First love yourself, then you can
Love someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must
First love yourself, then you can
Love someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must first
Hey You
There on the fence
You've got a choice
One day it will make sense
Hey You
First love yourself
Or if you can't
Try to love someone else
Keep it together
We'll make it alright
Our celebration is going on tonight
Poets and Prophets will envy what we do
This could be good
Hey You
First love yourself, then you can
Love someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must
First love yourself, then you can
Love someone else
If you can change someone else
Then you have saved someone else
But you must first.

"Dreamer" by Ozzy Osbourne, Album: Down To Earth (2001)

Gazing through the window at the world outside
Wondering if mother earth will survive
Hoping that mankind will stop abusing her, sometime
After all theres just the two of us
And here we are still fighting for our lives
Watching all of history repeat itself, time after time
Im just a dreamer, I dream my life away
Im just a dreamer, who dreams of better days
I watch the sun go down like everyone of us
Im hoping that the dawn will bring a sign
A better place for those who will come after us this time
Im just a dreamer, I dream my life away, oh yeah
Im just a dreamer, who dreams of better days
Your higher power may be God or jesus christ
It doesnt really matter much to me
Without each others help there aint no hope for us
Im living in a dream, a fantasy
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
If only we could just find serenity
It would be nice if we could live as one
When will all this anger, hate and bigotry be gone?
Im just a dreamer, I dream my life away, today
Im just a dreamer, who dreams of better days, ok
Im just a dreamer, whos searching for the way, today
Im just a dreamer, dreaming my life away
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah
A mourning song full of visions and wishes for saving Mother Earth and Humanity from ecological destruction, wars, etc. But such wishes are costless, so do his crocodile tears. If he really wants to do something for the planet he shouldn't have supported George Bush or Margaret Thatcher in 80s.

"Oh Mother Earth" by Neil Young, album: Raged Glory (1990)

Oh, Mother Earth,
With your fields of green
Once more laid down
by the hungry hand
How long can you
give and not receive
And feed this world
ruled by greed
And feed this world
ruled by greed.
Oh, ball of fire
In the summer sky
Your healing light,
your parade of days
Are they betrayed
by the men of power
Who hold this world
in their changing hands
They hold the world
in their changing hands.
Oh, freedom land
Can you let this go
Down to the streets
where the numbers grow
Respect Mother Earth
and her healing ways
Or trade away
our children's days
Or trade away
our children's days.
Respect Mother Earth
and her healing ways
Or trade away
our children's days.
A call to respect Mother Earth for her beauty, her offerings and for future generations survival and welfare
Neil Young is an outspoken advocate for environmental issues and small farmers, having co-founded in 1985 the benefit concert Farm Aid. We read in wikipedia about his environmental activities and against global poverty:
Farm Aid was organized by Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Neil Young, spurred on by Bob Dylan's comments at Live Aid earlier in that year. (Dylan said, "I hope that some of the money...maybe they can just take a little bit of it, maybe...one or two million, maybe...and use it, say, to pay the mortgages on some of the farms and, the farmers here, owe to the banks....") Nelson and Mellencamp then brought family farmers before Congress to testify about the state of family farming in America. Congress subsequently passed the Agricultural Credit Act of 1987 to help save family farms from foreclosure. Also in wikipedia:
Today, Farm Aid is an organization that works to increase awareness of the importance of family farms, and puts on an annual concert of country, blues and rock music with a variety of stars. Young's speeches about the environment are a highlight of the annual shows.
Neil Young, after Buffalo Springfield, solo or together with Crosby, Stills & Nash, used to write lyrics about social issues, like Ohio, Southern Man and Alabama, but also about environmental issues. You can hear Mother Earth in youtube here and here

"Goodbye to a river" by Don Henley, album: Inside job (2000)

“The rains have come early”, they say “We're all gonna wash away”
Well, that's all right with me
If heaven's torrent can wash clean the arrogance that lies unseen
In the damage done since we have gone where we ought not to be
Goodbye to a river, goodbye to a river; so long
Lakes and levees, dams and locks, they put that river in a box
It was running wild and men must have control
We live our lives in starts and fits; we lose our wonder bit by bit
We condescend and in the end we lose our very souls
Goodbye to a river, goodbye to a river, so long
The dirty water washes down poisoning the common ground
Taking sins of farm and town and bearing them away
The captains of industry and their tools on the hill
They're killing everything divine
What will I tell this child of mine?
I make a church out of words as the years dull my senses
And I try to hold on to the world that I knew
I struggle to cross generational fences
And the beauty that still remains; I can touch it through you
Goodbye to a river, goodbye to a river, so long
Goodbye to a river, goodbye to a river, so long
Goodbye to a river, goodbye to a river, roll on
A song/lament about how people treat natural landscapes, in this case a river, by changing its way, polluting its water, bulding dams etc. Probably the artist (ex-Eagles member and environmentalist) expresses personal feelings about the destruction of a river in his homeland. We read in wikipedia about his environmental activities:
In 1990, Henley founded the Walden Woods Project to help protect Walden Woods from development. The Thoreau Institute at Walden Woods was started in 1998 to provide for research and education regarding Henry David Thoreau. You can hear this song in youtube
Henley co-founded the non-profit Caddo Lake Institute in 1993 to underwrite ecological education and research. As part of the Caddo Lake Coalition, CLI helps protect the Texas wetland where Henley spent much of his childhood.

“The Sun Is Burning” by Ian Campbell (1963)

The sun is burning in the sky
Strands of clouds go slowly drifting by
In the park the lazy breeze
Are joining in the flowers, among the trees
And the sun burns in the sky
Now the sun is in the West
Little kids go home to take their rest
And the couples in the park
Are holdin' hands and waitin' for the dark
And the sun is in the West
Now the sun is sinking low
Children playin' know it's time to go
High above a spot appears
A little blossom blooms and then draws near
And the sun is sinking low
Now the sun has come to Earth
Shrouded in a mushroom cloud of death
Death comes in a blinding flash
Of hellish heat and leaves a smear of ash
And the sun has come to Earth
Now the sun has disappeared
All is darkness, anger, pain and fear
Twisted, sightless wrecks of men
Go groping on their knees and cry in pain
And the sun has disappeared
A metaphoric song about a nuclear disaster: a nuclear explosion produces heat like the sun and is like the beneficial in its distance sun has touched the Earth. Then it disappears leaving darkess, havoc, complete disaster. This song has also been covered by Simon & Garfunkel in their debute in 1964.

Album: "Living with war" by Neil Young (2006)
After the Garden
Won't need no shadow man
Runnin' the government
Won't need no stinkin' WAR
Won't need no haircut
Won't need no shoe shine
After the garden is gone
After the garden is gone
After the garden is gone
What will people do?
After the garden is gone
What will people say?
After the garden
Won't need no strong man
Walkin' through the night
To live a weak man's day
Won't need no sunshine
Won't need no purple haze
After the garden is gone
After the garden is gone
After the garden is gone
Where will people go?
After the garden is gone
What will people know?
After the garden
After the garden is gone
After the garden is gone
(We live in the garden of Eden, yeah
Don't know why we wanna tear the whole thing to the ground
We live in the garden of Eden, yeah
Don't know why we wanna tear the whole thing down
And we've got to get ourselves
Back to the garden)
Let's impeach the president
Let's impeach the president for lying
And leading our country into war
Abusing all the power that we gave him
And shipping all our money out the door
He's the man who hired all the criminals
The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors
And bend the facts to fit with their new stories
Of why we have to send our men to war
Let's impeach the president for spying
On citizens inside their own homes
Breaking every law in the country
By tapping our computers and telephones
What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees
Would New Orleans have been safer that way
Sheltered by our government's protection
Or was someone just not home that day?
Let's impeach the president
For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected
Dividing our country into colors
And still leaving black people neglected
Thank god he's racking down on steroids
Since he sold his old baseball team
There's lot of people looking at big trouble
But of course the president is clean
Thank God
We read in Wikipedia about this album and songs
“Living with War” (2006) is an album full of protest songs. The album's lyrics, titles, and conceptual style are highly critical of the policies of the George W. Bush administration.
“After the Garden”, the opening track, protests the Bush administration's policy regarding global warming. The lyrics express displeasure with the administration's perceived inaction in dealing with the issue. Young presents the consequences of not taking action to combat global warming through the lyrics.
"Let's Impeach the President" starts off with a trumpet playing the first six notes of Taps, then having a chorus sing about various reasons to impeach George W. Bush. The song is sung to the tune of Steve Goodman's song "The City of New Orleans," perhaps a reference to 2005's Hurricane Katrina, another area of critical views.
The Restless Consumer
The people have heard the news
The people have spoken
You may not like what they said
But they weren't jokin'
Way out on the desert sands
Lies a desperate lover
They call her the "Queen of Oil"
So much to discover
Don't need no ad machine
Telling me what I need
Don't need no Madison Avenue War
Don't need no more boxes I can see
Covered in flags but I can't see them on TV
Don't need no more lies
Don't need no more lies
The restless consumer flies
Around the world each day
With such an appetite for taste and grace
People from around the world
Need someone to listen
We're starving and dying from our disease
We need your medicine
How do you pay for war
And leave us dyin' ?
When you could do so much more
You're not even tryin'
Don't need no TV ad
Tellin' me how sick I am
Don't want to know how many people are like me
Don't need no dizziness
Don't need no nausea
Don't need no side effects like diarrhea or sexual death
Don't need no more lies
Don't need no more lies
The restless consumer lies
Asleep in her hotel
With such an appetite
For anything that sells
A hundred voices from a hundred lands
Need someone to listen
People are dying here and there
They don't see the world the way you do
There's no mission accomplished here
Just death to thousands
A hundred voices from a hundred lands
Cry out in unison
Don't need no terror squad
Don't want no damned Jihad
Blowin' themselves away in my hood
But we don't talk to them
So we don't learn from them
Hate don't negotiate with Good
Don't need no more lies
Don't need no more lies
Don't need no more lies
Don't need no more lies
The restless comsumer flies
Around the world each day
With such an appetite for efficiency
And pace...
Don't need no more lies.
Another song from this album that critisizes the whole USA policy of oil dependence and eternal wars and conflicts to retain it in order to support a highly consuming society with strong class division and unequal access to meet basic human needs.

“Tables and chairs” by Andrew Bird's Bowl Of Fire Album: Andrew Bird & the Mysterious Production of Eggs (2005)

if we can call them friends then we can call them on their telephones
and they won't pretend that they're too busy or that they're not alone
and if we can call them friends then we can call
holler at them down these hallowed halls
just don't let the human factor fail to be a factor at all
don't, don't you worry, about the atmosphere
or any sudden pressure change
cause i know
that it's starting to get warm in here
and things are starting to get strange
and did you, did you see how all of our friends were there
and they're drinking roses from the can?
and how, how i wish i, i had talked to them,
and i wish they fit into the plan
and we were tired of being mild
we were so tired of being mild
and we were tired...
i know we're going to meet some day
in the crumbled financial institutions of this land
there will be tables and chairs
there'll be pony rides and dancing bears
there'll even be a band
cause listen, after the fall there will be no more countries
no currencies at all, we're gonna live on our wits
we're gonna throw away survival kits,
trade butterfly-knives for adderal
and that's not all
ooh-ooh, there will be snacks there will
there will be snacks, there will be snacks.
and we were tired of being mild,
we were so tired of being mild,
and we were (we were so) tired...
so don't you, don't you worry
about the atmosphere
an ironic song about the forthcoming global warming disaster and the consequences when the social network collapses.

"Traffic in the Sky" by Jack Johnson, Album: On and on (2003)

There's traffic in the sky
and it doesn't seem to be getting much better
There's kids playing games on the pavement
Drawing waves on the pavement
Shadows of the planes on the pavement
It's enough to make me cry
But that don't seem like it would make it feel better
Maybe it's a dream and if I scream
it will burst at the seams and
this whole place will fall into pieces
and then they'd say...
Well how could we have known?
I'll tell them it's not so hard to tell
if you keep adding stones
soon the water will be lost in the well
Puzzle pieces in the ground
but no one ever seems to be digging
Instead they're looking up towards the heavens
with their eyes on the heavens
the shadows on the way to the heavens
It's enough to make me cry
but that don't seem like it would make it feel better
When there is an excess in use of an activity, no matter their nature, too many problems can be appeared and a consequent loss of life quality. With the increase in air transportation tons of fuel and CO2 emmisions are released in the sky, enhancing greenhouse effect, too much noise in nearby settlements, too much occupied free space for airports, runaways, etc at the expense of wetlands, agricultural land, recreation areas.

"Clear Blue Skies" Crosby Stills Nash, Album: American dream (1988)

Clear blue skies—not too much to ask for;
They were here before we came;
Will they be here when we're gone?
Clean water—not too much to hope for;
It's the basis of our lives,
And without it we are done.
Well, we can keep our eyes upon the skies
And see how the time goes by,
Or we can find our fears
Among the tears
That fall when the meadows cry, cry, cry . . .
Clear ideas—much too much to think of;
We need all the help we can get,
(And I know) we need all the time that we've got;
(And I know) we need all the love we can give . . .
It will be here when we're gone (clear blue skies)
It will be here when we're gone
Clear blue skies . . .
Wondering about the bad use of nature by humans, even when they pollute vital life sources like water.

"Don't go near the water" by Johnny Cash, album: Ragged Old Flag (1973)

Don't go near the water children
see the fish all dead upon the shore
Don't go near the water cause the water
isn't water anymore
From the fountains in the mountains
comes the water running cool and clear and blue
And it comes down from the hills
and it goes down to the towns and passes through
When it gets down to the cities
then the water turns into a dirty grey
Cause it's poisoned and poluted by the people
as it goes along its way
Don't go near the water children...
I was sittin' on the bank of the lake
at home fishin' with my little boy
I said have you got a bite yet son
He said no sir have you daddy
I said I believe I got a nibble
He said daddy if we catch a fish
can we cook 'em and eat 'em
I said maybe we'd better not son
They say it may not be safe
to eat a fish from this water anymore
Don't go near the water children...
A father explains the circle of water and warns his children not to reach water because it is heavily contaminated in a degree that it cannot be named "water" anymore. Such a heavy pollution is obvious in once clear channels, rivers, lakes and closed gulfs. The smell is disgusting, water is grey, brown of green, water animals are dying, pH is heavily alcalic or acidic.
Near our city (Thessaloniki, Greece), such a lake (Lake Coronia) was completeley destroyed, its "water" can be used for battery liquids (!) and life in it vanished completely (by successive mass deaths of birds, fish, mussels), no matter that it was a protected area by RAMSAR Convention. The reasons are the indifference of authorities about this ecosystem who let polluting industries and cities to throw untreated their liquid wastes and sewage in the lake and the heavy agriculture that is applied around the lake based in crops with huge irrigating demands.

"The last resort" by Eagles, album: Hotel California (1976)

She came from Providence,
the one in Rhode Island
Where the old world shadows hang
heavy in the air
She packed her hopes and dreams
like a refugee
Just as her father came across the sea
She heard about a place people were smilin'
They spoke about the red man's way,
and how they loved the land
And they came from everywhere
to the Great Divide
Seeking a place to stand
or a place to hide
Down in the crowded bars,
out for a good time,
Can't wait to tell you all,
what it's like up there
And they called it paradise
I don't know why
Somebody laid the mountains low
while the town got high
Then the chilly winds blew down
Across the desert
through the canyons of the coast, to
the Malibu
Where the pretty people play,
hungry for power
to light their neon way
and give them things to do
Some rich men came and raped the land,
Nobody caught 'em
Put up a bunch of ugly boxes, and Jesus,
people bought 'em
And they called it paradise
The place to be
They watched the hazy sun, sinking in the sea
You can leave it all behind
and sail to Lahaina
just like the missionaries did, so many years ago
They even brought a neon sign: "Jesus is coming"
Brought the white man's burden down
Brought the white man's reign
Who will provide the grand design?
What is yours and what is mine?
'Cause there is no more new frontier
We have got to make it here
We satisfy our endless needs and
justify our bloody deeds,
in the name of destiny and the name of God
And you can see them there,
On Sunday morning
They stand up and sing about
what it's like up there
They call it paradise
I don't know why
You call someplace paradise,
kiss it goodbye
The song refers to the colonization of once virgin natural environments of America and the transformation of them to heany urban and industrialized by eliminating natural landscapes and local cultures. It also depicts the way urbanization expands and destroys natural landscapes. People try to escape from existing urban polluted, crowdy and noisy environments in order to find peace of mind: They decide to go to country where things seems to be quite better. But that decision is made by many people, so rich people take the chance for more development in these places by transforming the previous natural landscape to heavy urban (hotels, bars, markets, new houses, etc). This vicious cycle goes on and on producing more polution, more noise, more stress.

"Ecology song" by Stephen Stills, album: Stephen Stills 2, 1970

Fortunes of time making up a rhyme
How do we save tomorrow
Given a voice can you make a choice
Is it black, is it grey, is it yellow
Mother nature made it green
Prettiest place you've ever seen
People don't know what they need
Open your window
What do you see
Do you remember
how it used to be
All of this crying, while the earth is dying
It's a shock they won't stop because of the money
America is lost, figurin' the cost
You can hang your head in shame
It's disgusting
Mother nature made it green
Prettiest place you've seen
People don't know what they need
Open your window
What do you see
Do you remember
how it used to be
One of the first songs using the term “ecology”, another worrying about how people use nature putting money above all.

"Song For A Dying Planet" by Joe Walsh, album: Songs For A Dying Planet (1992)

Is anyone out there?
Does anybody listen or care anymore?
We are living on a dying planet,
We're killing everything that's alive,
And anyone who tries to deny it
Wears a tie
And gets paid to lie
So I wrote these songs for a dying planet,
I'm sorry but I'm telling the truth,
And for everybody trying to save it
These songs are for you, too.
Is anyone out there?
simple lyrics that tell us a great and unconvenient truth. If you deny the environmental destruction you are the main part of the problem, a liar, an enterpreneur that has purposes to destroy and pollute.

"Slower than guns" by Iron Butterfly, Album: Metamorphosis, 1970

Can you feel the manmade mist
As it starts to twist your lungs?
Slower than guns
Breathe deep
As you enter sleep
Fell secure it’s all around you
Can you see the golden brown
As it circles round your town
Town coming down
Smokin’ stacks on industry’s backs
In this land of a cigarette pack
Feel secure there all around you
Miles and miles of gasoline fumes
In the air like transparent tombs
Feel secure there all around you
DDT making bugs relax
There in your food like poison tacks
How about that
Eat well there all within you
Town coming down
Environmental pollution sap gradually our health either mental or body, a slow death that could't be realized easily, so people don't feel so uneasy about the future consequences of the release of new substances in the environment. Pesticides, heavy metals, CFC, fumes, smog, drugs, radiation, GMO etc will reveal their impacts decades after their disposal, so there is some kind of irresponsibility by people towards such issues. A gun is a dangerous machine because its deadly effect is immediate, what about a mobile phone/aerial, GMO or a nuclear plant?

”Out in the Country” by Three Dog Night, album: It ain’t easy (1970)

Whenever I need to leave it all behind
Or feel the need to get away
I find a quiet place, far from the human race
Out in the country
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin'
Whenever I feel them closing in on me
Or need a bit of room to move
When life becomes too fast, I find relief at last
Out in the country
Before the breathin' air is gone
Before the sun is just a bright spot in the nighttime
Out where the rivers like to run
I stand alone and take back somethin' worth rememberin' (x4)
I stand alone...
A typical 60-70s song about someone getting frustrated from noisy and polluted urban life and seeks peace of mind in nature’s calmness.

Natural Beauty by Neil Young, Album: Harvest Moon (1992)
On the roller coaster ride
That my emotions have to take me on
I heard a newborn baby cry
Through the night.
I heard a perfect echo die
Into an anonymous wall of digital sound
Somewhere deep inside
Of my soul.
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature
Don't judge yourself too harsh, my love
Or someday you might find your soul endangered
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature.
Amazon
You had so much and now so much is gone
What are you gonna do
With your life?
What a lucky man.
To see the earth before it touched his hand
What an angry fool
To condemn.
One more night to go
One more sleep upon your burning banks
A greedy man never knows
What he's done.
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature
Don't start yourself too short, my love
Or someday you might find your soul endangered
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature.
Went to the rodeo today
I saw the cowgirls lined up on the fence
A brand new Chevrolet
A brand new pair of seamless pants.
We watched the moment of defeat
Played back over on the video screen
Somewhere deep inside
Of my soul.
A natural beauty should be preserved like a monument to nature.
Natural beauty must be preserved like monument and not only for aesthetic purposes. Our existence is depends on Natural ecosystems that we keep on destroying for profitable purposes. Those simple thoughts go through Neil’s mind when he hears a baby cry in the night. Probably that cry made him aware of our responsibility of what future generations will inherit from nature, or they’ll become endangered species too.
