Inner feelings: Anger in vain. I can't take anymore. No one needs to tell me what I'm fighting for. From thunder to sunshine, From sunset 'til dawn, What the hell is going on? Is this world about to lose control? [Bridge:] At least I know that I've been trying. But still our paradise is dying. And i've seen it so many times, mankind must be blind. Destroying and killing the nature in pain. Was my tears for them in vain? -tell me no!!! Still pollutions pond and dust: Nature bleeds everywhere. Why ain't mankind smart enough to feel my fear? My voice is the thunder, my breath is the wind, my tears are falling as rain. Why ain't mankind smart enough to feel the same? [Bridge:] At least I know that I've been trying. But still our paradise is dying. [Rep. Chorus] "Why do we have to destroy what God and the nature have given. Why do we have to destroy what was meant to be our paradise. I thought mankind was smart enough to understand that we were brought into this world for one reason: To rule the earth and to be the head of a body called " nature". Maybe the storms, the great fires and the earthquakes are just another way to punish us. And I believe - That's just what we deserve!"

"Time Is Ticking Out" by Cranberries, album: Wake Up and Smell the Coffee (2001)
We better think about the things we say
We better think about the games we play
The world went round, yeah, around and round
We better think about the global census
If time went down, yeah, if time went down
What about radiation
We don't know, we don't know
We don't know, we don't know
Time is ticking out
I wonder if the politicians care
The dime went down, yeah, if time went down
Is there nothing left for them
We don't know, we don't know
For me love is all
To do do do
Time is ticking out yeah time is ticking out

"Deforestation" by Culture, album "Heteronome" (1997)
Deforestation leads to extinction...
Another land laid to waste, species die, forest falls.
Endless fires consume all life, nature dies while demons dine.
Sky grows black, blood runs red.
End of life, no more compromise.
Sky grows black, blood runs red.
End of life, no more compromise.
This world is hell, I must escape this living hell.
This world is fucking hell.
Forest Falls.....

"Destroy the Machines" by Earth Crisis (1995)
"Inherit the Wasteland"
Destroyed in the hands of the deranged
Mankind's will has been imposed upon the earth as though we
Were alone and if our actions had no consequences
Man crushes all that bars the way on this path to annihilation
Taking for themselves while the other inhabitant's
Lives are given no consideration
Inherit the wasteland! Spilled oil contaminates the sea
Inherit the wasteland! Poisons fill the atmosphere
Inherit the wasteland! Toxins infect the ground. Inherit the
Wasteland! Deforestation scars the earth
The rainforests burn. Countless animals die
We must regain control or there will
Be nothing left to save. The harmony of nature
Twisted into dischordance. Left to die in the aftermath of their destructive
Sightlessness. Time is running, time is running
Time is running ... Time is running out
"New Ethic"
This is the new ethic
Animals' lives are their own and must be given respect
Reject the anthropocentric
Falsehood that maintains the oppressive hierarchy of mankind
Over the animals. It's time to set them free. Their lives
Reduced to biomachines in the factory, farm and laboratory
Dairy, eggs and meat, fur, suede, wool, leather are the end
Products of torture, confinement and murder
I abjure their use out of reverence for all innocent life
Wildlifes' right to
Live in peace in their natural environment
Without this civilization's interference can no longer be denied
Must no longer be denied
To make a civilization worthy of the word civilized the cruelty must end
Starting within or own lives. Reject the
Anthropocentric falsehood that maintains the oppressive hierarchy
Of mankind over the animals. It's time to set them free
Veganism is the essence of compassion and peaceful living
The animals are not ours to abuse or dominate. I abjure their use
Out of reverence ... I abjure their use out of reverence ...
I abjure their use out of reverence for all innocent life
The name of the band, Earth Crisis, indicates how their members see the current state of the planet and in their lyrics they seek to offer solutions to it; these are either "educational" or encourage direct-action. Most of them focus on rejection of recreational drugs, animal products, animal testing, industrial livestock production, illegal drug trade and an impending earth's doom caused by wars or an ecological collapse. On the other hand, they promote straight edge, veganism, self-empowerment and organizations such as Earth First!, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and the Animal Liberation Front. In the words of the academic Jonathan Pieslak, some of their lyrics "read like passages" taken from "direct-action essays" of these institutions. Other subjects include criticism against white supremacy and, especially on Breed the Killers, oppressive governments. 2000's record Slither incorporated more topical issues, including genetic engineering and second amendment rights. Their seventh and eighth albums, Neutralize the Threat and Salvation of Innocents, are concept albums entirely dedicated to real-life vigilantes and animal rights/anti-vivisection, respectively. The albums All Out War, Gomorrah's Season Ends and Breed the Killers included essays that delve into their lyrics and beliefs.
In a 1998 interview with Roadrunner Records, Karl Buechner described Earth Crisis' philosophy: "I want to boil it down to one notion: personal accountability. Respect for yourself, respect for the lives of innocent beings around us." He added that "Just being drug-free doesn't make you a good person, you need to use that clarity of the mind to become actively involved in the struggle that is being waged for earth, human and animal liberation." Their message disjoined from the "posicore" attitudes in its advocation for violent direct action. However, they believe that it must be used only as a last resort: "destruction and violence are the last thing I want to see but tragically, they are sometimes necessary. We place so far greater value on the lives of the innocent beings than any type of worth that could be put upon someone who's sadistic or greedy and doesn't want to change their profit system", said Buechner.
The band cited authors Peter Singer, John Robbins and Huey P. Newton as inspirations. In their live shows, there is usually literature about PETA, Greenpeace and others distributed. They have been longtime supporters for organizations such as the Animal Defense League, having done several benefit concerts for them.

"A Thousand Suns" album by Linkin Park (2010)
The Catalyst
God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone
It can't be outmatched, it can't be outrun, no
God bless us, everyone
We're a broken people living under loaded gun
And it can't be outfought, it can't be outdone
It can't be outmatched, it can't be outrun, no
And when I close my eyes tonight
To symphonies of blinding light
(God bless us, everyone)
(We're a broken people living under loaded gun)
Oh, like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky
God save us, everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
For the sins of our hand, the sins of our tongue
The sins of our father, the sins of our young, no
God save us, everyone
Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?
For the sins of our hand, the sins of our tongue
The sins of our father, the sins of our young, no
And when I close my eyes tonight
To symphonies of blinding light
(God save us, everyone)
(Will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?)
Oh, like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky
Oh, like memories in cold decay
Transmissions echoing away
Far from the world of you and I
Where oceans bleed into the sky
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
Lift me up, let me go
God bless us, everyone (Lift me up)
We're a broken people living under loaded gun (Let me go)
And, it can't be outfought (Lift me up)
It can't be outdone, it can't be outmatched (Let me go)
It can't be outrun, no
God bless us, everyone

A Thousand Suns is a concept album dealing with human fears such as nuclear warfare. The album references numerous social issues and blends human ideas with technology. The album's title is a reference to a line in the Hindu Sanskrit scripture the Bhagavad Gita "If the radiance of a thousand suns were to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the mighty one," which was made famous by J. Robert Oppenheimer in reference to the atomic bomb. The title also appears in the album's lead single "The Catalyst", which appears in the line "God save us everyone, will we burn inside the fires of a thousand suns?". The band said Oppenheimer's comments about the nuclear bomb influenced the apocalyptic themes of the album. The band wrote about these comments in the album's liner notes: Oppenheimer's words resonate today not only for their historical significance, but for their emotional gravity. So, too, A Thousand Suns grapples with the personal cycle of pride, destruction, and regret. In life, like in dreams, this sequence is not always linear. And, sometimes, true remorse penetrates the devastating cycle. The hope, of course, springs from the notion that the possibility of change is born in our most harrowing moments.
Humanity has thought that nuclear holocaust threat was eliminated, and was cool for about 30 years. But beside urban terrorism, the nuclear terrorism has an unexpected comeback these days. American politics play dangerous games, by secretly aiding terrorist groups or officially countries who support terrorists (Saudi Arabia) and now threat a small stalinistic remnant with dangerous arms. Two crazy leaders play like silly children.

Anne Clark – Poem For A Nuclear Romance, album: Changing places (1983)
What will it matter then
When the sky's not blue but blazing red
The fact that I simply love you
When all our dreams lay deformed and dead
We'll be two radioactive dancers
Spinning in different directions
And my love for you will be reduced to powder
The screams will perform louder and louder
Your marble flesh will soon be raw and burning
And kissing will reduce my lips to a pult
Hideous creatures will return from the underground
And the fact that I love you
Will die
You don't have to sleep to see nightmares
Just hold me close
Then closer still
And you'll feel the probabilities pulling us apart.

"Radioactivity" by Kraftwerk, album "Radio-Activity" (1975), remix (1991)
Lyrically, the 1975 version of the song plays upon the meaning of its title, with the line "Discovered by Madame Curie (In fact, Natural radioactivity was discovered by Henri Becquerel (and independently by Silvanus Thompson); induced radioactivity by Irène Joliot-Curie, Marie Curie's daughter. Curie coined the term "radioactivity").
The song was re-recorded as a radically different version for The Mix album in 1991 and was issued as a single in an edited form with remixes by François Kevorkian and William Orbit. While the original does not offer a value judgement on the safety of radioactivity, the 1991 version drops all references to radio and incorporates additional lyrics with a pointed anti-nuclear theme, remaking the central lyrical hook as "stop radioactivity" and also referring to "contaminated population" and mentioning by name Chernobyl, Harrisburg (Three Mile Island), Sellafield and Hiroshima.
The band performed the Mix version at the "Stop Sellafield" concert in 1992. The song was performed during Kraftwerk's set at Coachella to commemorate the anniversary of the Chernobyl incident on April 26 (the date of the band's performance). Live versions of "Radioactivity" feature on both English and German versions of the band's 2005 live album Minimum-Maximum.
In 2012, Kraftwerk performed the new remix of "Radioactivity" during No Nukes 2012, held in Japan. To commemorate the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, Hütter sang alternate lyrics to the song in Japanese, at one point even name checking Fukushima. This version of the song also has notable lyric changes such as "Chernobyl, Harrisburg, Sellafield, Fukushima". This altered version of the song is also the version Kraftwerk performs live to this day, albeit with the second chorus switching back to the English or German lyrics sung on the Mix version, depending on where they perform.
